tradelines
Reported credit accounts
Tradelines are credit accounts that appear on a credit report—credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, and similar accounts that establish a borrower's payment history.
Each tradeline shows the creditor, account type, balance, and payment record.
In a secondary market, people buy and sell access to tradelines: someone with poor credit pays to be added as an authorized user on a stranger's old account with perfect payment history, boosting their credit score.
This practice occupies a legal gray area.
