trabecular meshwork
Eye's filtration network
The trabecular meshwork is a spongy tissue in the eye that drains fluid from the front chamber.
Located where the iris meets the cornea, it regulates pressure inside the eye by controlling how quickly aqueous humor flows out.
When the meshwork becomes blocked or damaged, fluid builds up and pressure rises—a primary cause of glaucoma.
