topi
Lightweight sun hat
A topi is a pith helmet—the lightweight, cork-centered hat worn in tropical climates as protection from the sun.
The word comes from Hindi and was common during the British colonial era in India and Africa.
Topi also names an African antelope related to the hartebeest, with a dark glossy coat and curved horns: A herd of topi grazed on the savanna.
