tog

Casual clothing item

Tog has two distinct uses.

In British informal speech, togs are clothes, especially outer garments: I packed my swimming togs.

To tog out or tog up is to dress, often elaborately: They were togged out in their finest.

Separately, a tog is a unit measuring thermal resistance in fabrics—higher tog ratings mean warmer bedding: a 13.5 tog duvet for winter.
