titer

Solution strength measure

Titer is a measurement of concentration, particularly of antibodies or other substances in blood.

In medicine, it quantifies how much a sample can be diluted before a substance becomes undetectable: Her antibody titer showed immunity to rubella.

Higher titers indicate greater concentration.

The term appears frequently in vaccine research and infectious disease testing.

Also spelled titre in British English.
