titers

Solution strength measurements

Titers are measurements of concentration, specifically how much of a substance exists in a solution.

In medicine, a titer typically indicates the level of antibodies in blood—higher titers suggest stronger immune response or recent infection: Her antibody titers showed she was immune to measles.

The term comes from titration, a laboratory technique for determining concentration.

Also spelled titres in British English.
