time loops
Reliving same moments
A time loop is a narrative device or hypothetical situation in which a period of time repeats itself, trapping someone in the same sequence of events over and over: She relived the same day in an endless time loop.
The concept appears frequently in science fiction and fantasy, most famously in the film *Groundhog Day*.
The trapped character typically retains memory across iterations while others reset, creating opportunities for growth, correction, or madness.
In casual use, time loop describes any situation that feels repetitively stuck: This meeting is a time loop—we keep having the same argument.
