parallel worlds
Simultaneous alternate dimensions
Parallel worlds are hypothetical realities existing alongside our own, often imagined as alternate versions where different choices were made or different outcomes occurred.
The concept appears in physics (the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics) and pervades science fiction: In a parallel world, she never boarded that plane.
Sometimes called alternate universes or alternate realities.
