teardrops

Eyes' sad overflow

Teardrops are drops of the salty liquid that flows from the eyes when crying.

The word is slightly more poetic or deliberate than *tears*: A teardrop rolled down her cheek.

Teardrop also describes a shape—rounded at one end and tapering to a point at the other: teardrop earrings, a teardrop trailer.
