tayberries

Scottish raspberry cross

Tayberries are a hybrid berry, a cross between blackberries and raspberries.

They're larger and more elongated than raspberries, with a deep reddish-purple color and a sweet-tart flavor.

Named after the River Tay in Scotland, where they were developed in the 1970s.

The tayberries from the garden made excellent jam.
