tacet
Score says hush
Tacet is a musical direction indicating that a performer or section remains silent for an extended passage, typically an entire movement.
It appears in orchestral and ensemble scores to tell musicians they have nothing to play: The timpani part is tacet for the second movement.
From Latin for "it is silent."
