sunbird
Iridescent nectar feeder
Sunbird is any of numerous small, brightly colored birds found in Africa, Asia, and Australia, often compared to hummingbirds for their iridescent plumage and nectar-feeding habits.
Unlike hummingbirds, sunbirds typically perch while feeding rather than hovering.
The name reflects their affinity for sunny habitats and gleaming feathers: A sunbird flashed emerald and gold among the blossoms.
