spiritual death
Loss of grace
Spiritual death is the state of being separated from God or cut off from divine grace.
In Christian theology, it refers to the soul's condition after sin—alive physically but dead spiritually: Without redemption, we remain in spiritual death.
The concept appears across religious traditions to describe existence without connection to the sacred or transcendent, sometimes contrasted with physical death as the more serious condition.
