spinal block
Lumbar anesthesia injection
A spinal block is a form of anesthesia injected into the spinal canal to numb the lower body.
It's commonly used during childbirth, cesarean sections, and surgeries below the waist: She opted for a spinal block rather than general anesthesia.
Unlike an epidural, which delivers continuous medication through a catheter, a spinal block is a single injection with faster onset but shorter duration.
