socialist utopia
Shared ownership dreamland
A socialist utopia is an idealized society where collective ownership of production has eliminated class distinctions, poverty, and exploitation.
The phrase appears both earnestly among advocates and sarcastically among critics: They think higher taxes will create some socialist utopia.
Like most utopias, it implies something desirable but probably unattainable.
