snap fit
Catches when pushed
Snap fit is a fastening method where parts join through interlocking features that click into place, requiring no screws, adhesives, or tools.
One component has a protrusion that deflects during assembly, then snaps into a corresponding recess on the other: The battery cover uses a snap fit.
Common in plastic housings, toys, and consumer electronics where easy assembly and disassembly matter.
