slot-car
Grooved track vehicle
A slot-car is a miniature electric racing car that runs on a track with a groove or slot that guides its movement.
The car has a small pin underneath that fits into the slot, while metal contacts pick up electrical current from strips in the track to power the motor.
Slot-car racing became a popular hobby in the 1960s, with enthusiasts building elaborate tracks and customizing their cars for speed.
We spent hours racing slot-cars in my friend's basement.
