skywatcher
Night sky observer
A skywatcher is someone who observes the sky, whether casually or systematically.
The term covers amateur astronomers tracking planets and meteor showers, birdwatchers scanning for migrating flocks, and anyone who simply enjoys watching clouds or sunsets: Skywatchers gathered on the hilltop to view the eclipse.
