side walls
Edges of enclosures
Side walls are the vertical surfaces that bound a space on its sides, as opposed to floor, ceiling, front, or back.
The term appears in contexts where orientation matters: the side walls of a tire (between tread and rim), the side walls of a swimming pool, or architectural descriptions distinguishing lateral surfaces from end walls.
