sensory organs
Body's input devices
Sensory organs are body parts specialized to detect stimuli from the environment or within the body—eyes for light, ears for sound, nose for smell, tongue for taste, skin for touch and temperature.
Each converts physical or chemical signals into nerve impulses the brain interprets as perception: The sensory organs of deep-sea fish have adapted to complete darkness.
