seatmate
Beside you traveler
A seatmate is the person sitting next to you—on an airplane, bus, or in a classroom.
The term implies proximity without prior acquaintance: My seatmate on the flight wouldn't stop talking.
Unlike a companion you've chosen, a seatmate is assigned by circumstance.
