sea arch
Ocean's stone doorway
A sea arch is a natural rock formation where erosion has carved a hole through a coastal headland or cliff, creating an arch that frames the water.
Waves, wind, and salt gradually wear through weaker rock while harder surrounding stone remains.
We kayaked through the sea arch at low tide.
When the arch eventually collapses, it may leave behind a sea stack.
