scrollwheel
Finger-spun navigation dial
A scrollwheel is the small rotating wheel on a computer mouse, positioned between the left and right buttons, that allows users to scroll through documents, web pages, and other content without clicking.
Rolling it forward typically scrolls up, rolling backward scrolls down.
Many scrollwheels can also be clicked as a middle mouse button, and some tilt sideways for horizontal scrolling.
I wore out the scrollwheel on my old mouse from all that browsing.
