sand casting
Granular mold technique
Sand casting is a metalworking process where molten metal is poured into a mold made of compacted sand.
The sand holds the shape of the desired object, then is broken away after the metal cools and solidifies.
It's one of the oldest and most versatile casting methods, used for everything from engine blocks to sculptures: The foundry specializes in sand casting for industrial parts.
