salchows
Figure skating jumps
A salchow is a figure skating jump launched from the back inside edge of one skate, with the skater landing on the back outside edge of the opposite foot.
Named after Swedish skater Ulrich Salchow, who invented it in the early 1900s.
The salchow is considered one of the easier jumps and often appears in combination with other jumps: She landed a triple salchow.
