free skate
Artistic ice routine
Free skate is the portion of a figure skating competition where skaters perform self-choreographed routines to music of their choosing, as opposed to the short program with required elements.
The term also refers to public skating sessions at ice rinks where anyone can skate without instruction or formal structure: The rink offers free skate on Saturday afternoons.
