sahibs
Sirs in India
Sahibs is the plural of sahib, an honorific from colonial India used to address European men, roughly equivalent to "sir" or "master." British colonizers were routinely called sahib by Indian servants and subordinates.
The term now appears mainly in historical contexts or with ironic undertones: The sahibs expected their tea at four o'clock sharp.
