Decrepit old vehicle
A rust-bucket is an old vehicle, typically a car or ship, that has deteriorated to the point of visible corrosion and questionable reliability.
The term is affectionately derogatory—owners might call their own beater a rust-bucket with a mix of embarrassment and fondness, while others use it to suggest something is barely roadworthy.
