junker
Barely roadworthy vehicle
A junker is something worn out and ready for the scrap heap, especially an old car that barely runs: We bought a junker for five hundred bucks.
The word derives from junk—a junker is held together by rust and hope.
It can also refer to someone who collects or deals in junk. (Capitalized Junker is a Prussian aristocrat.)
