robot dance
Stiff jerky choreography
The robot dance is a style of movement mimicking the stiff, mechanical motions of a robot—jerky isolations, locked joints, and precise angular poses.
It emerged from funk and hip-hop street dance in the 1970s and remains a staple of breakdancing and pop culture: He busted out the robot dance at the wedding reception.
Also called the robot or roboting.
