ridiculousness

State of absurdity

Ridiculousness is the quality of being absurd, laughable, or deserving of mockery.

It can describe genuine foolishness or be used for emphasis: The ridiculousness of the situation finally hit me.

Unlike absurdity, which can be philosophical, ridiculousness usually invites scorn or laughter: I can't get past the sheer ridiculousness of that excuse.
