repatriates

Returns to homeland

Repatriates can be the verb or the noun.

To repatriate is to send or bring someone back to their country of origin—prisoners of war are repatriated after conflicts end, and governments repatriate refugees when conditions allow return.

Money and assets can also be repatriated: The company repatriated its overseas profits.

As a noun, repatriates are people who have been sent or have returned home: The repatriates struggled to readjust to civilian life.
