remote start
Distance engine activation
Remote start is a feature that allows you to start a vehicle's engine from a distance, typically using a key fob or smartphone app.
The primary use is warming up or cooling down the car before you get in: I used remote start so the car would be warm by the time I walked out.
Most systems require the car to be locked and in park, and the engine shuts off if you try to drive without the key present.
