remember the Alamo
Texan battle cry
Remember the Alamo is a rallying cry invoking the 1836 battle where Mexican forces killed the Texan defenders of a San Antonio mission.
Originally a call to avenge that defeat, it now serves more broadly as an exhortation to persevere against overwhelming odds or to never forget a significant loss: When the team fell behind, the coach shouted "Remember the Alamo!".
