rehinging

Restoring door movement

Rehinging is the act of attaching new hinges to a door, gate, or lid, or reattaching existing hinges that have come loose.

The task often arises when hinges rust, sag, or pull free from their moorings: The old cabinet door needed rehinging after the screws stripped out.
