reboarding

Getting back on

Reboarding is the process of reintegrating employees into a workplace after an extended absence—whether from parental leave, medical leave, or remote work during a pandemic.

It's onboarding for people who already work there: The company developed a reboarding program for staff returning to the office.

The term also applies literally to getting back on a vehicle: Passengers began reboarding the train after the delay.
