real estate deed
Land ownership paper
A real estate deed is a legal document that transfers ownership of property from one party to another.
The deed identifies the property, names the grantor (seller) and grantee (buyer), and must be signed and recorded with local authorities to be valid.
Different types—warranty deeds, quitclaim deeds, grant deeds—offer varying levels of protection to the buyer: The title company prepared the real estate deed for closing.
