re-laying

Installing floor anew

Re-laying is laying something again.

The hyphen distinguishes it from relaying (passing along): The workers are re-laying the tile that buckled versus She's relaying a message.

Floors, cables, pipes, and tracks are commonly re-laid when the original installation fails or needs updating.
