Kitchen cooking platform
A rangetop is the cooking surface of a stove, containing the burners where pots and pans are placed.
The term also refers to a standalone unit of burners designed for built-in installation, without an oven below: We're putting in a gas rangetop and a separate wall oven.
Sometimes written as two words: range top.
