raised bed
Boxed growing area
A raised bed is a garden plot elevated above ground level, typically enclosed by wooden boards, stones, or other materials and filled with soil.
Raised beds improve drainage, reduce soil compaction, and make gardening more accessible: We built raised beds for the tomatoes.
The term also describes a bed frame that positions the mattress higher than usual.
