race riot
Interracial street violence
A race riot is a violent public disturbance involving attacks between racial groups, or by one group against another.
Historically, the term often described white mob violence against Black communities: The 1921 Tulsa race riot destroyed the Greenwood district.
The term can obscure who attacked whom—what's called a "race riot" was frequently a massacre.
