prewarning

Early heads up

A prewarning is advance notice of something, especially something unpleasant or dangerous: We had no prewarning of the layoffs.

The word is somewhat redundant since warnings are already advance notice, but prewarning emphasizes the earliness—a warning before the main warning, or notice given with unusual lead time.
