precogs

Psychics predicting crimes

Precogs are people with precognition—the ability to perceive future events before they occur.

The term comes from science fiction, particularly Philip K.

Dick's story "The Minority Report," where precogs are humans whose visions of future crimes enable preemptive arrests.

The precogs predicted the murder three days in advance.

Outside fiction, precog refers to anyone claiming prophetic abilities.
