metahumans
Beyond ordinary people
Metahumans are humans with superhuman abilities—enhanced strength, flight, telepathy, or similar powers beyond normal human capacity.
The term appears primarily in comic books, video games, and superhero fiction as a category distinct from aliens or magical beings: The city's metahuman population required special containment facilities.
Unlike mutant, which implies genetic origin, metahuman covers any source of powers.
