nulls

Database absent values

Nulls are zero values, empty placeholders, or things that have been voided.

In computing, a null represents the absence of data—distinct from zero or blank, it means "no value assigned." In statistics, the null hypothesis assumes no significant difference exists.

As a verb form, to null something is to cancel or invalidate it: The court nulls the contract.

The singular null also functions as an adjective: a null result, null and void.
