Prior to 2000
Pre-millennial describes the period or attitudes before the year 2000—the era preceding widespread internet culture, smartphones, and social media: a pre-millennial childhood, pre-millennial dating.
The term also refers to people born before the millennial generation, roughly those born before 1981.
In Christian theology, premillennial (usually unhyphenated) refers to the belief that Christ will return before a thousand-year reign on earth.
