post-digital
After the revolution
Post-digital describes a cultural moment when digital technology has become so ubiquitous it no longer feels novel or distinct.
The term acknowledges that the digital/analog divide has collapsed—we don't go "online" anymore because we're always there.
Post-digital art, music, or design often deliberately incorporates analog imperfections, glitches, or older media forms: The album has a post-digital aesthetic, mixing vinyl crackle with synthesizers.
The concept doesn't mean "after digital" but rather "beyond digital as special."
