pot-still

Batch whisky maker

A pot-still is a type of distillation apparatus where liquid is heated in a large copper pot and the vapors are collected through a neck and condenser.

Unlike column stills that run continuously, pot-stills work in batches and produce spirits with more flavor and character.

They're traditional equipment for Scotch whisky, cognac, and craft distillers: The distillery uses copper pot-stills dating to the 1920s.
