porting
Adapting code elsewhere
Porting is the process of adapting software to run on a different platform, operating system, or hardware than it was originally designed for: The studio spent months porting the game from console to PC.
The term comes from the verb port, suggesting transfer or carrying across.
A clean port preserves functionality; a lazy port introduces bugs or performance issues.
