plano-convex
Flat-meets-bulging optic
Plano-convex describes a lens or other optical element that is flat on one side and curved outward on the other.
The flat surface is the "plano" part, while the bulging surface is convex.
Such lenses focus light and are commonly used in telescopes, microscopes, and laser systems.
The plano-convex lens concentrated the beam into a single point.
